Four students from Nasarawa State University (NSUK) in Keffi were reportedly abducted on Monday night by suspected kidnappers in the Angwan Ka’are community, located in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The abducted students, who were taken outside the university campus at around 10:30 pm, have been identified as Rahila Hanya (SLT 100 Level), Josephine Gershon (Computer Science 100 Level), Rosemary Samuel (Business Administration 100 Level), and Goodness Samuel (Geography 100 Level).
The University’s Head of Information and Protocol, Abraham Ekpo, confirmed the incident and stated that the university authorities are aware of the situation. He mentioned that the university’s internal security is collaborating with other law enforcement agencies to secure the safe release of the abducted students.
DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Public Relations Officer of the Nasarawa State Police Command, also confirmed the abduction. He stated that the police received a distress call at approximately 12:55 am, reporting the invasion of a house in Angwan Ka’are, Keffi, by unidentified armed individuals. Law enforcement agencies, in conjunction with the military, promptly responded to the distress call and have initiated efforts to locate and apprehend the kidnappers.

The Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough manhunt for the culprits, with the primary goal of rescuing the abducted students unharmed.
This incident has added to the growing concerns about rising crime rates, including cases of kidnapping, in Keffi Local Government Area. Recent incidents have raised alarm within the university community, particularly in areas such as Angwan Lambu, High Court, and various parts of the LGA.
