Manchester United hit by major setback as Casemiro suffers injury during international break

Manchester United has been hit by a significant setback during the international break as their midfielder, Casemiro, sustained an ankle injury while on international duty.

Casemiro was forced to leave the field with just 11 minutes remaining during Brazil’s 1-1 draw with Venezuela on Thursday evening. The 31-year-old is unlikely to be available for Brazil’s upcoming match against Uruguay on Tuesday night.

Fernando Diniz, Brazil’s head coach, addressed the situation following the Venezuela match, stating, “Casemiro asked to be substituted due to an ankle injury.”

Casemiro has been a key player for Manchester United, having started in all eight of their Premier League fixtures this season. His absence will be felt by the team as they prepare to face Sheffield United after the international break.
