However, Palmer won’t be available for England’s upcoming European Championship qualifier against Ukraine due to an injury he sustained during a game against Serbia. During the match, his right thigh was bandaged after picking up a knock in the first half.
Unfortunately, Palmer’s condition didn’t improve, and he only managed to play six minutes into the second half before being substituted with Tino Livramento taking his place.
On Sunday, England Under-21 coach Carsley provided an update on Palmer’s condition, saying, “I think Cole will be fine, but we don’t take any chances with any of the players. If there is even a slight doubt that they might miss a game at the weekend, we get them back to their respective clubs as quickly as we can.”

Carsley explained that they considered keeping Cole for an extra day to evaluate his condition further but ultimately decided against it. He reassured that the rest of the squad was in good health, with just a few dealing with minor colds and sniffles.
