Ogun State to propel development through digital technology, Governor Abiodun reaffirms

Ogun State remains committed to leveraging digital technology to advance its developmental objectives, according to Governor Dapo Abiodun. The state government aims to identify, nurture, and empower technological talents among its youth, placing Ogun on the global map of digital innovations.

Governor Abiodun reaffirmed this commitment while inaugurating the 2023 Ogun Tech Summit, themed “Disruptive Innovation: Digital Technology for Sharing the Future.” The event, hosted in Abeokuta over two days, attracted technology experts, disruptors, innovators, startups, and tech enthusiasts.

Abiodun emphasized Ogun’s aspiration to become Nigeria’s Silicon Valley by supporting technology-driven professionals across the state. His administration also aims to capitalize on information communication technology (ICT) initiatives to attract more investors to Ogun.

Governor Abiodun highlighted the state’s engagement with technology through the establishment of the Ogun TechHub, which identifies top ICT talents. The TechHub serves as a platform for harnessing young IT knowledge and supports various initiatives, including digital education curricula and infrastructure in the education sector.

Ayoola Olaniyi, the convener of the Tech Summit, explained that the event, initiated five years ago, aims to position Ogun State at the forefront of digital and technology talent development, aligning with global best practices and fostering progress.
