Following a prolonged suspension of flight operations due to security concerns, Kaduna International Airport has reopened its doors to travelers.

The airport had been closed since March 2022 due to a terrorist attack, raising concerns about its safety.
In an interview with journalists in Kaduna, Airport Manager Adamu Sheikh confirmed the resumption of flight operations at the airport.
The symbolic return of flight operations took place with the arrival of an Air Peace ERJ-145 aircraft, which touched down at the airport at 5:10 p.m. on Monday.

Mr. Shiekh emphasized that more airlines were preparing to recommence operations and reassured the public that stringent security measures had been put in place to guarantee safe take-offs and landings.
Fatima Ndayako, the Station Manager for Air Peace in Kaduna, explained that the decision to return to the Kaduna route was primarily driven by persistent requests from their customers. She further confirmed that the airline would now offer daily operations between Kaduna and Lagos.
Passengers who witnessed the resumption of flights at Kaduna airport expressed their delight and emphasized the importance of maintaining the airport’s functionality. They called on the government and relevant authorities to ensure the ongoing safety and security of the airport.
