Wike made this call during a courtesy visit from leaders of the Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC), led by the National Chairman, South South, Chief Victor Giadom, at his office in Abuja on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
He emphasized the need for Nigerians to understand that it is time to collectively work for the country’s best interests, especially after the elections have concluded and a president has emerged. According to Wike, President Tinubu has demonstrated the capacity and political will to bring positive transformation to the nation, making him deserving of support from all Nigerians.
Wike stated, “Mr. President, having emerged, is not a president of the APC. He is the president of all Nigerians.”

Regarding the importance of unity among politicians in Rivers State, regardless of their party affiliations, the Minister encouraged them to prioritize the state’s collective interests by supporting President Tinubu’s administration, rather than focusing solely on their individual concerns.
He explained, “For our state, it is time for us to understand the country’s politics in order to progress. Many states have benefited from this understanding, and we must not be left behind. We must recognize that a political party is a vehicle that takes you to a destination. Once you reach your destination, you get out of the vehicle.”
Wike highlighted the paramount importance of Rivers State’s interests and emphasized that the administration’s goal is to protect and promote what will benefit the state.
In addition, he assured that the FCT administration would treat all Nigerians fairly, including members of Rivers State, without discrimination. He urged individuals to voice their concerns and not be constrained by political party affiliations, emphasizing his commitment to serve all Nigerians, irrespective of their political inclinations.
