Yobe Government calls on NEDC to rebuild vandalized educational institutions

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has urged the North-East Development Commission (NEDC) to support the restoration of state-owned polytechnics in Geidam and the College of Agriculture in Gujba, which were vandalized by criminals.

The governor made this request during a courtesy visit by the newly reappointed chairman of the governing board and management staff of the NEDC to the Government House in Damaturu, represented by his deputy. He expressed his deep sorrow for the tragic events in which many students of the College of Agriculture Science and Technology in Gujba lost their lives. The institution has been temporarily relocated to a secondary school in Damaturu for the resumption of academic activities, making it imperative for agencies like the NEDC to intervene in the reconstruction efforts.
