APC criticizes Atiku as a “serial loser,” emphasizes Nigeria’s priorities over his ambition

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has lashed out at Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, calling him a “serial loser.” The APC asserted that Nigeria’s greater interests surpass Atiku’s unrealized presidential ambitions.

Felix Morka, the spokesperson for the APC, responded to Atiku’s world press conference on Monday, held in the wake of the Supreme Court’s ruling that upheld President Bola Tinubu’s election.

In his post-defeat statement, Atiku criticized the judiciary for becoming the “lost hope” of the common man and accused Tinubu of breaking the law by allegedly submitting a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

However, Morka urged Atiku to accept his defeat gracefully and act as a statesman. He labeled Atiku’s evidence of wrongdoing as “bogus, flimsy, unverifiable, uncorroborated, illogical, and hearsay,” emphasizing that the election was conducted in substantial compliance with the country’s constitution and electoral laws.

Morka made it clear that the responsibility of determining what constitutes “incontrovertible evidence” lies with the courts, which have fulfilled this duty honorably and credibly. He also suggested that Atiku’s presidential ambitions should not overshadow the greater good of Nigeria.

The statement concluded by highlighting that Nigeria’s progress must continue regardless of individual political ambitions, underlining the nation’s priority over any one person’s aspirations.
