Also, Hilda Baci revealed during a recent interview in ‘Tea with Tay‘ podcast hosted by Taymesan Emmanuel.

Because According to the celebrity chef, her father has been present in her and her siblings’ lives since they were children. However, things changed when a heated altercation between him and her mother had an effect on the children.

Although What really hurt her was her father’s unexpected leaving, especially because she and her older brother, Gabriel, were about to finish their university studies.

Furthermore Hilda explained that she couldn’t understand why her father had stopped funding their education, especially after funding their academic journey through nursery, secondary school, and the early years of their tertiary education.

On this particular occasion, she recalled a heartbreaking day when she called her father to discuss her school expenditures. To her surprise, he answered the phone and basically played the ‘Who’s your dad’ card, thereby disowning her over the phone.

However At first, Hilda thought her dad was joking until he stopped funding her and sending allowance for upkeep.

In her words, “For me, I will say one of the biggest issues was when he abandoned me. He did not abandon me from on set I think that he was present for us to some extent. But when it came dawn on me, was when my father and mom had issues. It was more propounded on me because I was in 300 level second semester in University.”

“I pretty much remember our conversation between me and my father on one matriculation day. I was like, you did not bring food for me and his response was like, ‘Who’s your dad?’. It later dawned on me years after that he was not actually joking…..” Guinness Records Hilda Baci
