The statement from the Enugu DisCo stated, “EEDC wishes to inform its valued customers in Imo state that the power supply disruption currently being experienced is a direct result of industrial action by organized labor unions in Imo state.”
The company further clarified, “This action led to the labor union shutting down our source of power supply at the Egbu Transmission Station, leaving us with no energy to distribute to our customers. Consequently, the entire Imo State is currently without electricity supply.”
While expressing regret for the inconveniences faced by customers, EEDC hopes for a swift resolution of the issue and assured the people of Imo that the company is prepared to restore power once the labor action is concluded.
