Former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke, has called on Nigerians to pray for her as she faces allegations and charges of bribery and corruption brought against her by the United Kingdom National Crime Agency (NCA).

During a hearing on the fifth-floor courtroom, Diezani appealed to members of the Nigerian community in the UK, saying, “I need prayers. Please pray for me.”
A prominent lawyer, Benedict Peters, who traveled from Nigeria to represent his client, expressed confidence in his client’s defense. He stated that the case is weak and unlikely to hold.
Speaking to journalists outside the court, Emeka Ozoani (SAN), who is representing one of the individuals linked to the case, criticized the NCA’s prolonged investigation, which he claimed was an attempt to justify the use of taxpayers’ money.

Ozoani confirmed that he had traveled from Nigeria solely for the hearing to represent his client.
