The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has reassured the public about his safety following a recent air crash near the Ladoke Akintola Airport in Ibadan, Oyo State. The incident occurred on Friday when a private aircraft, carrying the minister and some of his aides, crash-landed near the airport.

According to a source close to the minister, Adelabu remains in good spirits and is not concerned about the incident. An anonymous aide stated that the minister views the incident as minor and is untroubled by it.
The aide further clarified that Adelabu’s lack of worry is primarily because none of the passengers on board sustained injuries during the incident. Everyone safely disembarked from the aircraft, which landed approximately 50 meters short of the runway’s threshold and skidded into a ditch near the runway.
The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has initiated an investigation into the incident. In a statement released on Saturday, NSIB confirmed that their investigators are on the site, and further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
