Piers Morgan applauds Declan Rice as Arsenal falls to Newcastle

Piers Morgan, the British broadcaster, has highlighted Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice for his performance in the Gunners’ 1-0 Premier League defeat against Newcastle United on Saturday.

In the match at St. James’ Park, a contentious goal by Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon proved to be the decider. The ball appeared to have gone out of play during the build-up, and Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes was pushed inside the penalty area. However, VAR awarded the goal to the home team.

Morgan expressed his frustration with VAR’s role in the goal and criticized Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta for his decision to persist with Kai Havertz.

“VAR was the Man of the Match for Newcastle, but we deserved to lose. Arsenal were dreadful,” Morgan tweeted.

He continued, “Only Rice, once again, deserves any praise. As long as we don’t have a proper striker, and Arteta persists in this ridiculous Havertz experiment, we won’t win the League.”
