Abia State Governor Alex Otti explains his decision to work from home

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has provided an explanation for his decision to operate from his residence instead of the state government house. He cited a commitment to managing the cost of governance as the primary reason for this choice.

Otti shared his perspective during a visit by the global leadership of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, led by Pastor Ted Wilson, who came to celebrate the church’s centenary anniversary.

He emphasized the importance of good governance starting with the efficient management of government expenses, considering that unlimited resources might otherwise be allocated to running the government itself rather than serving the people.

Otti further explained, “When we assumed office in May, we discovered that a substantial amount of money would be needed to renovate the Governor’s Office. Fortunately, we have suitable facilities here at home, which allow us to work from here. We will continue this practice until we have successfully addressed various critical issues, including public health, education, infrastructure, and hygiene problems in the state.”

He clarified that tackling these essential matters takes precedence over refurbishing the Governor’s Office. Otti reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives of Abia State residents and highlighted the numerous infrastructure projects designed to promote the welfare of the populace and facilitate balanced development throughout the state.
