During an appearance on Channels Television’s People’s Townhall on Election Security, the LP chairman stated, “My party and candidates are very worried about the security situation in Imo and Kogi, especially.” He pointed out that throughout their campaigns, their offices have been targeted by unknown gunmen, with instances where security agencies appeared to be associated with the perpetrators of such attacks.

Abure stressed the gravity of these events, raising serious questions about the safety of lives and property in Imo and Kogi states, particularly. The Labour Party’s primary concern revolves around these two states, given the notable level of insecurity.

On the other hand, Abure indicated that Bayelsa may not pose as serious of a flashpoint in terms of violence, and the party is less concerned about the situation in Bayelsa State.
