Chelsea Coach Pochettino reveals tactics behind 4-1 win over Tottenham

Chelsea’s head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, shared insights into his team’s triumphant performance, explaining why they secured a 4-1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur in a recent Premier League clash.

In a game that saw Cole Palmer net a goal and Nicolas Jackson bag a remarkable hat-trick, Chelsea handed Tottenham their first defeat of the season in the league, ending their unbeaten run. This victory elevated Chelsea to 10th place on the Premier League table, accumulating 15 points from 11 matches.

During his post-match press conference, Pochettino shed light on their strategy for the game, emphasizing that Chelsea’s success was primarily due to their ability to capitalize on Tottenham’s mistakes following an early goal in the first half.

Pochettino stated, “We forced them to make mistakes, but Tottenham was better in the first 15 minutes. We are still building something; we need time to come against a team full of confidence and to concede after we started the game really badly. We were calm afterwards and forced them to make a mistake.”
