“During the recording of my second album ‘Tears of the Sun’ in July 2023, I was diagnosed with a life-threatening throat infection,” she said.
Teni went on to describe her health journey, mentioning that after several episodes of temporary voice loss, she was admitted to the hospital in September 2023 and received multiple injections during her five-day stay.

She continued, “In October 2023, I started to regain my singing voice without surgery. By November 2023, I am back on stage, and my new single ‘Malaika’ is a song of gratitude and thanksgiving to God for his mercy and grace.”
