Adekunle Gold urges men to prioritize self-care

Renowned Nigerian musician, Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold, has shared advice encouraging men to prioritize self-care.

In a post on his official X handle, the singer pointed out the tendency for men to have a shorter lifespan compared to women.

“Men, take care of yourself. Grandma plenty pass grandpa for this world,” he wrote.

This advice aligns with global health statistics, as a 2019 World Health Organisation (WHO) analysis highlighted that women generally live longer than men. The WHO attributed this difference to the fact that men often seek healthcare services less frequently than women.

The report further revealed that a baby boy born in Africa in 2016 could expect to live to age 60, while a baby girl could expect to live to 63. Adekunle Gold’s message serves as a reminder for men to prioritize their health and well-being.
