AIG Paul Ojeka Odama assumes leadership at Police zone 16 in Bayelsa

A new era has begun at Zone 16 of the Nigerian Police Force Headquarters, Yenagoa, as Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Paul Ojeka Odama takes the helm of affairs, succeeding the retired AIG Idrisu Dabban Dauda. This announcement was made by CSP Ikwo Kevin Lafieghe, the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, in Yenagoa on Friday.

The statement highlighted AIG Odama’s impressive career, tracing his journey from being commissioned as a Cadet ASP in 1990 to his current role as the head of Zone 16. A native of Yala LGA in Cross River State, AIG Odama holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology, a Masters degree in Criminology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and another Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Calabar. Notably, he is also a Chartered Accountant.

With a wealth of experience gained from serving in various departments of the Nigeria Police Force and participating in international missions to places like Pristina, Kosovo, Monrovia, Liberia, and East Timor, Indonesia, AIG Odama brings a diverse and seasoned background to his new role.

Having served as the Commissioner of Police for Kwara State Command and CP Maritime, Lagos, AIG Odama was most recently at Zone 11, Osogbo, before his current posting to Zone 16 headquarters. The statement emphasized the need for cooperation and support from the residents of Bayelsa and Rivers States to enable AIG Odama to leverage his extensive policing experience effectively.

The Zonal headquarters expressed confidence that AIG Paul Ojeka Odama’s leadership would bring positive contributions to policing in the region.
