Barr Chijioke Edeoga, the Labour Party governorship candidate in Enugu State, has responded to the recent Appeal Court judgment that affirmed the victory of Barr Peter Mbah from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The three-man panel of judges, in a decision handed down on Friday, upheld Mbah’s election. In a statement by Mr. George Ugwu, the Spokesman for the Edeoga/Nwokeabia Campaign Organisation, the party expressed shock and disappointment at the verdict.

Ugwu stated, “The Edeoga/Nwokeabia Campaign organization received with shock and disappointment the judgement of the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos on the petition of the Enugu State Chapter of the Labour Party and its candidate in the March 18 Governorship Election in the state, Hon. Chijioke Edeoga.”

He further conveyed that the organization’s legal team is assessing the judgment and has been instructed to explore constitutional rights of appeal to the Supreme Court. The party is committed to pursuing justice to the extent legally possible.
