Paul Scholes criticizes Manchester United players despite narrow win over Luton

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes didn’t hold back in his assessment of the Red Devils’ performance following their narrow 1-0 victory against Luton Town in the Premier League on Saturday.

Expressing his dissatisfaction, Scholes remarked that Erik ten Hag’s squad didn’t deliver a stellar performance at Old Trafford. Victor Lindelof’s goal in the 59th minute secured the three points for Manchester United.

Despite enjoying 65% possession and managing 15 shots, five more than Luton, with four on target, Scholes felt the team fell short creatively. He acknowledged that Luton made it challenging for United throughout the game, but emphasized that the primary goal was achieved.

In his analysis, Scholes stated, “They got the job done. It was not a great performance, as we have seen, probably didn’t create as much as you would have liked. Luton made it very difficult for them throughout the game, but it is job done.”

Looking ahead, Scholes expressed hope that the team could utilize the upcoming break to regroup and rediscover their form before returning to action in a couple of weeks.
