Aisha Yesufu issues warning of potential upheaval surpassing #EndSARS protests

Renowned socio-political activist Aisha Yesufu has issued a stark warning, indicating the possibility of a more impactful protest than the 2020 nationwide #EndSARS movement.

Recalling the #EndSARS protests, which were decentralized and aimed at addressing police brutality in Nigeria, Yesufu emphasized that the next uprising might catch Nigerians off guard.

The #EndSARS movement gained momentum through social media, sparking mass demonstrations across major Nigerian cities. Despite its peaceful origins, the protests led to violence and tragic deaths of several young Nigerians.

Yesufu, a prominent figure during the #EndSARS protests, asserted that Nigerians may not foresee the magnitude of the upcoming uprising. She pointed to the simmering anger within the populace, fueled by the perceived impunity and audacity of corrupt politicians who have manipulated their way into power.

In a message posted on X, she stated, “Nobody saw the #EndSARS protest coming. Nobody will see the next uprising coming. Sadly, it might end up being violent. There is a simmering anger fueled by the impunity and brazenness of the corrupt politicians and rulers who have rigged their way into power. Nobody will be spared.”
