Actress Fari Elysian shares heartbreaking stories of friends’ BBL-related issues

Fari Elysian, the Russian-born Nigerian actress and content creator, has opened up about the tragic loss of three friends due to complications arising from Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgeries. In a recent episode of The Time podcast hosted by Victoria Gure and Folasade Abimbola, Fari shared the emotional and challenging experience she went through witnessing the unfortunate consequences of butt lift surgeries.

The actress revealed that the painful reality inspired her to delve deeper into the subject, leading to an episode on Afro Tales—a series of short films that explore relatable stories. Fari expressed the difficulty of losing acquaintances to complications that arose post-BBL surgeries, emphasizing the severity of the consequences, such as the inability to walk and, ultimately, death.

Reflecting on the personal impact, Fari stated, “You know somebody, and the next thing you hear is that she had a complication, she couldn’t walk, and then she died. Different cases. So, I had to go into it [BBL] deeper. We had to write a story about that. And we did one episode of Afro Tales that was about BBL.”

In addition to sharing her personal experiences, Fari also touched upon her journey in the entertainment industry, recounting how Mavin Records CEO Don Jazzy responded to her social media messages a year after she reached out to him. She revealed that Don Jazzy not only responded but also featured in one of her skits. Fari appreciated Don Jazzy’s support, acknowledging the time and effort he invested in collaborating with her.
