Renowned record producer Olumide Ogunade, known as ID Cabasa, has disclosed that a significant number of Nigerian artists, especially those who are parents, hesitate to let their children listen to their own music. According to Cabasa, explicit lyrical content is a primary reason behind this reluctance, emphasizing that many artists are merely pursuing music as a means of livelihood.

Cabasa shared his perspective during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, co-hosted by actor Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, also known as Nedu.

He stated, “I can tell you that most artists in Nigeria that you see, they don’t want their kids to actually listen to their own songs. And don’t blame them. I don’t like apportioning blames because the people funding [music executives] are behind what artists put out. A lot of us are doing this thing [music] for survival. So, the question is how do you balance who you are with who they [music executives] want you to be?”

This report is developing, more details will be shared on the SkiwordNews Telegram Channel as soon as possible.
