OAU mourns the sudden demise of senior lecturer Ayodele Ojediran

In a somber turn of events, Ayodele Isaac Ojediran, a senior lecturer at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, reportedly collapsed and passed away on Tuesday in his office.

Following the incident, Ojediran was swiftly taken to the university’s clinic, but despite immediate medical attention, he could not be revived.

A close colleague of the late lecturer, Ayodeji Obisesan, confirmed the unfortunate event on his Facebook page, expressing his grief: “Such a very humble and nice man to the core. Always willing to help. God will give us, your colleagues, associates, students, friends, and family members, the fortitude to bear this great loss. May your soul rest in perfect peace, Dr. Ojediran Isaac Ayodele.”

Abiodun Olarewaju, the Public Relations Officer of the university, characterized the incident as profoundly sad, leading to the school’s decision not to issue an official statement in respect of the mourning period. The sudden loss of Senior Lecturer Ayodele Ojediran has left the OAU community in mourning as they grapple with the impact of this tragic event.
