Amid the entrance of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah into the APC, the party has been vocal about its prospects in the 2025 gubernatorial election. The state APC chairman, Mr Basil Ejidike, recently declared in an interview that APGA would naturally fade away when the APC assumes leadership in 2025.
In a counterstatement, Soludo, through his Press Secretary, Mr Christian Aburime, refuted these claims. The release emphasized that APC has no foothold in Anambra and asserted that the state unequivocally belongs to APGA.
The statement highlighted, “Anambra State is APGA land and will forever remain APGA land because the people have come to accept the All Progressives Grand Alliance as their own political movement, and there is absolutely nothing the APC or other opposition parties can do about it.”

Responding to Ejidike’s comments, the release pointed out that the APC state chairman seemed detached from the reality on the ground in Anambra. It defended Soludo’s achievements, citing extensive infrastructure development within two years, comparing favorably with states where governors have served two terms.
The release challenged Ejidike’s perception, stating, “But our consolation lies in the fact that Ndi-Anambra are happy with what Soludo is doing, and they are ready to support him.”
It further addressed the criticism of Soludo’s governance by Ejidike, suggesting the need for introspection on the part of the APC chairman. The release concluded by reaffirming the unwavering support of the people of Anambra for APGA, declaring, “Let me tell Basil Ejidike that Anambra is APGA land, and Ndi-Anambra will forever support APGA because APGA is naturally our party.”
