On Monday, in a statement issued in Abuja, Onanuga responded to Atiku’s recent criticism of the nation’s judiciary, expressing concern over the PDP and Atiku’s disregard for caution in their separate statements.

Amidst the challenges faced by some elected governors of the PDP in the appeal court, Onanuga highlighted the overt desperation of the party and the former vice-president and his spokesman to shift blame onto President Tinubu and the judiciary, a crucial arm of the Nigerian government.

By deflecting responsibility elsewhere, Onanuga argued that Atiku and his supporters failed to demonstrate serious consideration before making their accusations public.

He called on Nigerians to dismiss the baseless allegations made by the PDP and its candidate, particularly the claim that Tinubu had corrupted the judiciary and suppressed opposition during his tenure as Lagos State governor.

Furthermore, Onanuga urged the public to reject the assertion that Tinubu intended to appoint supporters as Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) to establish a one-party state.

Emphasizing Tinubu’s commitment to democracy, Onanuga stated that he had never interfered with a court’s decision, urging a halt to the unwarranted attacks on judicial integrity.
