Afenifere Leader, Ayo Adebanjo, clarifies relationship with Tinubu

The leader of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, has emphasized that President Bola Tinubu is like a son to him and not an enemy. Adebanjo clarified that their differences are rooted in political disagreements rather than personal animosity.

Speaking at an event in Lagos on Tuesday, Adebanjo expressed his admiration for Tinubu, describing him as a loving young man who has always been willing to help whenever asked. Despite their political disparities, Adebanjo highlighted that their relationship has been characterized by mutual respect and assistance.

In his remarks, Adebanjo stressed the importance of national unity and the need to address constitutional issues for the progress of the country. He urged those concerned with the nation’s well-being, including Bola Tinubu, to focus on resolving the fundamental questions surrounding Nigeria’s unity.

“I’m happy Professor Bolaji Akinyemi is here. You are Tinubu’s friend. I’m not his enemy. He is my son. The only difference is that we disagree politically. He is a loving young man. I have never asked for a favour that he has not given me. But the issue is, the question of Nigeria to be together,” Adebanjo remarked.
