Themed “Re-directing the Focus of Education Stakeholders Towards Modern Process of Producing Competent, Dedicated, and Professional Teachers in Nigeria,” the conference aimed to address key aspects of educational transformation.
Represented by Prof. Mohammed Yahaya from the University of Ibadan, Maiyaki highlighted NUC’s pioneering role in implementing various programs since 2009. These initiatives have focused on integrating Open and Distance Learning (ODL) methods in alignment with international standards, enabling university staff to leverage technology for enhanced student engagement.
Maiyaki emphasized the broader impact of these programs, stating, “The establishment of ODL Centers by universities has expanded access to education, making it more inclusive. NUC’s efforts extended beyond ICT, as it has also paved the way for the establishment of Private Open Universities, fostering digital learning and ICT-driven educational delivery.”
