Maguire accepts apology from Ghana MP Isaac Adongo

Manchester United’s defender, Harry Maguire, has gracefully accepted an apology from Ghanaian Member of Parliament, Isaac Adongo, who previously mocked him during a parliamentary session last year.

Adongo’s unusual criticism targeted Maguire while discrediting his political rival’s economic policies, drawing a comparison to Ghana’s vice-president, Mahamudu Bawumia, accusing both of scoring political ‘own goals.’

At the time of Adongo’s comments, Maguire was facing a challenging period at Manchester United, having lost his spot in the team under Erik ten Hag.

On Tuesday, Adongo extended an apology to Maguire, praising the center-back as a ‘transformational footballer.’ Maguire, in turn, publicly accepted the apology, responding on Twitter, “MP Isaac Adongo apology accepted. See you at Old Trafford soon.”
