Mohbad’s Demise: Ongoing toxicology tests in the US, reveals Lagos coroner

The Lagos Coroner Court has disclosed that the crucial toxicology tests, pivotal in determining the cause of the late singer Mohbad’s de@th, are currently underway in the United States of America (USA).

State counsel O. Akinde informed Coroner Magistrate Adetayo Shotobi on Wednesday that the autopsy focusing on the external body of the deceased has been concluded. This update came in response to concerns raised by counsel to Mohbad’s father, David Fadimu, TNKay Music Worldwide’s David Nawoola, and O.S.A. Aranmolaran, a representative of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikorodu.

Akinde clarified, stating, “The toxicology test, which has to do with the internal body, is being done in the US.”

Mohbad passed away in a controversial manner on September 12, 2023, and was laid to rest the following day in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State. The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, responding to the public outcry, ordered a forensic investigation to uncover the circumstances of the singer’s de@th. Additionally, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, assembled a 10-man team, including a pathologist, to exhume Mohbad’s corpse and investigate the details surrounding his demise.
