The road construction is set to be executed in phases, with the initial phase scheduled to commence in January 2024. Governor Zulum expressed his observations about the lack of a road network at the polytechnic and emphasized the state government’s commitment to address this infrastructure challenge.

While praising the dedication of the polytechnic’s management to completing ongoing work at the permanent site, Governor Zulum assured continuous support for the institution. Earlier, the Borno State Government had approved a N100 million intervention for the polytechnic, covering expansion works at the temporary site, furniture, housing accommodations for principal officers, and a take-off grant. Governor Zulum released N50 million as a take-off grant in 2021 to facilitate the commencement of academic activities.

Governor Zulum has consistently provided support to federal institutions operating in Borno State, extending interventions to institutions such as the University of Maiduguri, UMTH, Nigerian Army University in Biu, and the Federal College of Education in Gwoza.

In addition to the developments at the Federal Polytechnic, Governor Zulum approved the release of N20 million to the Specialist Hospital in Monguno to address immediate needs. An incentive package was also ordered for staff present during the governor’s visit, with senior staff members receiving N100,000 and food items, and junior staff members receiving N50,000 and food items.

Governor Zulum, in 2019, had announced the upgrade of Monguno Hospital to specialist status, alongside Biu General Hospital, aiming to provide specialized medical services to the growing population.
