PDP denies Maku and Omeri’s alleged visit to Ganduje, labels reports as mischief

The Nasarawa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has refuted claims suggesting that former Information Minister Labaran Maku and former Director General of NOA Mike Omeri visited the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje to celebrate Governor AA Sule’s victory at the Court of Appeal.

In a statement by Mike Omeri, PDP’s Director of Media and Publicity for the Governorship Campaign Council, the party categorically dismissed the reports as the work of mischief makers. The statement emphasized that Maku and Omeri did not partake in any such event and had not engaged in activities aligning with the misleading narrative propagated by the media.

Reiterating their commitment to challenging the Court of Appeal’s judgment at the Supreme Court, the statement called for caution and verification of information before dissemination. The PDP urged the public and media organizations to uphold journalistic integrity and accuracy, highlighting the potential consequences of spreading misinformation on the democratic process.

Additionally, the party demanded that the Punch Newspaper retract the alleged false report and issue an unreserved apology, warning of potential legal action if these actions were not taken promptly. The PDP emphasized that their campaign remains focused on principles of fairness, justice, and the well-being of the people of Nasarawa. They called on all stakeholders, including the media, to maintain the highest standards of journalistic integrity in reporting.
