Following extensive discussions, President Tinubu urged all parties involved to reconcile and prioritize peace, securing commitments to this effect. The resolution ensures that Governor Akeredolu retains his position as the Chief Executive of the State, Aiyedatiwa remains Deputy Governor, and the State Executive Council members continue their duties. Additionally, the leadership of the State’s House of Assembly and the Ondo State APC Chapter remains unchanged.
Deputy Governor Aiyedatiwa, pledging to uphold unity, declared, “I embrace every one of you. I put behind all that has happened before now. I’ve let go and also let God, just as the President has advised us.” He emphasized the transient nature of political challenges, expressing a commitment to collaboration with the executive and legislative branches for effective governance.
Appealing to members of the State Executive Council, Aiyedatiwa urged cooperation to bring the “dividend of democracy” to the people of Ondo State. He emphasized mutual respect and collaboration to ensure governance is on the right track.

The resolution was presented by the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Oladiji Olamide, who stated, “Our resolution is that we shall embrace peace. Secondly, there would be no more dissolution of the cabinet, and the Deputy Governor would maintain the status quo as far as the House of Assembly leadership is concerned.”
The Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for settling the disputes, pledging unity and adherence to his words. Ondo State APC Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, hailed the resolution as a milestone, affirming that the party will monitor the implementation of the new commitments.
In essence, President Tinubu’s intervention served as a crucial step towards resolving the internal discord in Ondo State, fostering unity and stability within the APC-led government.
