Uzodinma attributes APC’s success to growing popularity

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has shed light on the reasons behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) securing victories in his state and Kogi during the recent off-cycle elections. Uzodinma attributed the success to the growing popularity of the APC and emphasized that Nigerians are expressing satisfaction with the party’s performance, particularly acknowledging the impact of President Bola Tinubu.

Securing his reelection bid in Imo State, Governor Uzodinma defeated rivals from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party. Similarly, APC’s candidate, Usman Ododo, emerged victorious in Kogi State, reinforcing the party’s standing. It’s worth noting that the PDP clinched victory in Bayelsa State with the reelection of Governor Douye Diri.

Governor Uzodinma, along with Ododo, visited President Tinubu at the presidential Villa to present him with their certificates of return. During the visit, Uzodinma expressed the significance of APC’s triumph in Kogi and Imo states, describing it as a testament to the “growing popularity” of the party.

In his words, Uzodinma stated, “Our victory at the polls shows that Nigerians are still very happy with the APC. Nigerians voted en-mass for the President, and this victory validates this claim through the voters in Kogi state and Imo state.”

The governor took the opportunity to honor and thank President Tinubu for his support, advice, and wisdom, which played a pivotal role in their electoral successes. Uzodinma highlighted how the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration served as a foundation upon which many candidates, including himself, built their campaigns, effectively convincing voters to choose the APC.
