Tinubu approved Kyari’s reappointment along with the appointment of Pius Akinyelure as chairman and seven other members of the NNPLC board on Monday.
In response to this decision, Madaki expressed his disapproval, stating that Kyari’s reappointment reflects a lack of awareness or concern for the challenges within the oil and gas sector. He argued that considering the persistent issues and mismanagement in the industry, retaining Kyari is a significant disservice to Nigeria.
“It is shocking to me. He does not know what is happening in the oil and gas industry, or he doesn’t care! For the level of mismanagement of the industry under Mele Kyari, it is a gross disservice to this country to retain him and most of the Board members and thereby pass a vote of confidence in the gross mismanagement of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry over the years,” Madaki emphasized.
