In a statement, Mr. Vincent Ezekwueme, Chairman of CLO in Anambra, emphasized the urgency of the situation, characterizing the plea as a passionate and life-saving request directed at President Bola Tinubu, Minister of Works, Chief David Umahi, and the Federal Emergency Roads Maintenance Agency.

Addressing reporters, Ezekwueme stressed the importance of President Tinubu dispatching his Minister of Works to inspect the deteriorated road out of a sense of patriotism and magnanimity. He highlighted the severe impact of the road’s dismal state on the lives of individuals residing along its path.

“The road has made life wretched, painful, and terrifying for individuals who live along the axis. Poor road conditions have further intensified insecurity in some areas of Anambra and the adjoining South-East state of Enugu,” Ezekwueme expressed.

Rather than serving as a vital link, the road has become a barrier, disconnecting a significant portion of the population due to its deteriorated state. Ezekwueme underscored that the inaccessibility and lamentable condition of the road have completely cut off those living in the region or attempting to travel through it.

The plea from the CLO reflects the pressing need for immediate intervention to address the dire state of the Nkwelle-Nsugbe-Umueri-Aguleri federal road, highlighting the far-reaching consequences on both the daily lives and overall security of the affected communities.
