Shaffy Bello expresses discomfort with young people calling her by name

Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has disclosed that she finds it disrespectful when younger individuals address her by her first name. She also mentioned that she feels bothered when greeted casually with a ‘Hi’ and a wave.

During a recent episode of the Me, Her And Everything Else podcast, the actress shared her perspective on the matter. While acknowledging cultural differences globally, she emphasized the impact of culture and upbringing on people’s greetings. Shaffy expressed a preference for being addressed as “Ma’am” rather than by her first name.

When asked about her response to young people who call her by her name, Shaffy stated, “Usually my response is simple and I say it with love, I pull them close and I tell them ‘you haven’t earned the right to call me by my name, I have a child as old as you are. Even if I didn’t have children you haven’t earned the right, and you would never earn the right at your age to call me my name.”
