Malam Bature Dawakin-Tofa, the Press Secretary to the governor, disclosed in a statement on Sunday that the warehouse was situated at Sharada Industrial Estate. According to Dawakin-Tofa, Governor Abba Yusuf, accompanied by government officials, visited the concealed storage facility where hijacked food items and chemical drums were stockpiled.
Expressing astonishment at the discovery, the governor vowed to prosecute all individuals involved in the disgraceful act of withholding palliative food items, including maize and rice. He promptly instructed the police commissioner to take control of the facility and conduct a thorough investigation to identify the culprits.
The revelation unfolded following a tip from observant Sharada residents who noticed suspicious activities of unidentified individuals around the warehouse. They promptly reported the matter to the Sharada Police Division.

Mr. Rabiu Amour, a leader in the Sharada community, informed Governor Yusuf that thousands of bags, branded with the governor’s face and designed as palliatives, had been illicitly repackaged. He emphasized that these food items were intended for distribution to less privileged individuals, prompting them to blow the whistle on the wrongdoing.
