Supreme Court dismisses Ihedioha’s suit against Uzodimma, imposes costs

In a significant legal development, the Supreme Court has rejected Emeka Ihedioha’s plea for a certificate of return as the legitimate governor of Imo State, challenging the eligibility of Governor Hope Uzodinma to contest the election. Ihedioha argued that Uche Nwosu was initially declared by the court as the rightful candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Justice Tijjani Abubakar, delivering the verdict on Tuesday, deemed the motion lacking in merit and characterized it as unnecessary and vexatious. The Supreme Court, in its decision, imposed a cost of N40 million against Mike Ozekhome for initiating the matter before the court.
