Naira Marley demands redress from Iyabo Ojo for defamation

Nigerian music artist and Marlian Music boss, Azeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, is embroiled in a legal dispute with actress Iyabo Ojo over alleged defamation.

Naira Marley’s lawyer, Olalekan Ojo, has formally accused Iyabo Ojo of spreading false and damaging information about the artist on her Instagram page in a post dated September 2023. The accusations include claims that Naira Marley was involved in both spiritual and physical dealings with the late singer Mohbad, as well as causing mental harm to the deceased artist.

In response to these allegations, Naira Marley’s legal representation is demanding a redress of N500 million from Iyabo Ojo. Additionally, the lawyer insists on a public apology to be posted on her social media page and published in a national daily.

The letter issued to Iyabo Ojo emphasizes that failure to comply with these conditions will compel Naira Marley to pursue legal action against her. This development marks a significant legal challenge in the realm of Nigerian entertainment, shedding light on the growing importance of responsible communication in the public domain.
