Petroleum task force takes action: IMG filling station shut down in Jigawa

In a decisive move, the Petroleum Products Task Force in Jigawa State has closed down the IMG filling station located in Dutse metropolis, citing allegations of customer exploitation. Colonel Muhammad Alhassan (rtd), the chairman of the task force, revealed this development during an inspection conducted by the team.

Governor Umar Namadi had appointed the task force to oversee the operations of filling stations, particularly during challenging times. Colonel Alhassan emphasized that their mission was to ensure fair practices, especially when customers are facing difficulties.

During the inspection, the committee made the decision to shut down the IMG filling station, accusing it of shortchanging customers by withholding 1.5 liters in every 10 liters dispensed. Alhassan reaffirmed the committee’s dedication to safeguarding the rights of customers, emphasizing the importance of maintaining ethical standards in the petroleum industry.

In his statement, the chairman urged filling station operators to uphold integrity, invoking the fear of Almighty Allah. He stressed the need for businesses to undergo a process of sanitization, fostering customer confidence in their services. The closure of IMG filling station serves as a stern reminder that the task force remains vigilant in protecting consumers and promoting transparency in the petroleum sector.
