Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has officially signed the 2024 budget into law, amounting to N258,278,501,339.00. During the signing ceremony at the Executive Chambers, Government House, Lokoja, Governor Bello expressed confidence that the incoming administration would build upon the developmental foundation laid down by his government. The budget, named ‘Budget of Consolidation and Continuity for Inclusive Growth,’ aims to foster further development, positioning Kogi for continued growth. Governor Bello commended the lawmakers for the swift passage of the bill and assured a smooth implementation under the incoming administration. Speaker Umar Yusuf highlighted the Assembly’s diligence in considering the budget, emphasizing its alignment with the citizens’ interests. Additionally, other bills, including amendments to the Kogi State Local Government Law, Kogi State Oil Producing Area Development Commission bill (KOSOPADEC), and the College of Nursing and Midwifery Obagende bill, were passed by the House.
