Tr@gic collision claims two lives and injures six on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

In a somber incident occurring on the day after Christmas, commonly known as Boxing Day, two lives were lost, and six individuals suffered varying degrees of injuries in a solitary automobile mishap on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Mrs. Florence Okpe, serving as the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun State, brought the unfortunate occurrence to light. The accident, involving a Toyota bus with eight passengers on board, was attributed to overspeeding, resulting in the driver losing control of the vehicle.

Okpe conveyed, “The vehicle collided with the road barrier due to excessive speed and a subsequent loss of control.”

The injured individuals were promptly transported to a hospital in Mowe, Ogun, while the deceased victims have been respectfully placed in the morgue. This tragic incident underscores the critical importance of adhering to speed limits and exercising caution on our roadways.
