As Nigeria prepares to compete in Group A at the 2023 AFCON in January alongside the host nation Ivory Coast, Guinea-Bissau, and Equatorial Guinea, Toure had expressed confidence in Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau progressing past the group stage to the knockout stage of the competition.

In response to Toure’s prediction, Oshoala, in an interview with Brila FM, dismissed the notion, asserting that Nigeria boasts players like Victor Osimhen and Victor Boniface, who have the potential to lead the team to success in the tournament.
“Talk is cheap. When we get to the tournament, we will separate the boys from the men,” Oshoala remarked.
She added, “Why not? We have the almighty Osimhen, the best player in Africa; we have Boniface doing well at club level. I feel like we have a good team; it’s not about individual talent.”
