“This visit is significant, hence the large entourage,” Mimiko remarked, acknowledging the profound sorrow shared by many for the departed former governor, affectionately referred to as “Aketi.”
While reflecting on Akeredolu’s personality, Mimiko described him as a determined individual, stating, “He was many things to many people, but for me, he was a friend. Once he made up his mind about anything, nothing could change it. That was the Aketi we knew.”
Dr. Mimiko extended his prayers to Governor Aiyedatiwa, seeking guidance as he takes on the responsibility of steering the affairs of the state. He also commended the unity and support exhibited by the people of Ondo State toward the new governor.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Mimiko’s visit symbolized solidarity and a shared sense of loss in the Ondo State community.
In response, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed appreciation to Mimiko for leading the condolence visit and for the supportive gesture during this challenging time. “Thank you on behalf of the Ondo State Government for coming to pay us a condolence visit,” Aiyedatiwa conveyed, acknowledging the importance of such gestures in times of grief.
