Currently undergoing an extensive revamp, the refinery is poised to commence processing 60,000 barrels per day shortly, as stated by the NNPCL. The company envisions reaching a maximum capacity of 210,000 barrels per day later in the year.
This development follows NNPCL’s commitment to achieving mechanical completion of the Port Harcourt refinery in December of the previous year.
A significant stride was made in March 2021 when the Nigerian Federal Executive Council sanctioned a $1.5 billion budget for the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt Refinery. Notably, data reveals that over the past decade, the Nigerian government has invested a substantial N11.35 trillion ($25 billion) in the ongoing efforts to overhaul the country’s three refineries.
This report is developing, more details will be shared on the SkiwordNews Telegram Channel as soon as possible.
