Tinubu Addresses Nigeria’s Subsidy Woes: Vows Reforms for Economic Prosperity

President Bola Tinubu highlighted on Monday that a select few exploited Nigeria’s resources under the guise of subsidy over the past four decades. He expressed regret that Nigerians are enduring the consequences of this misappropriation, acknowledging the challenges faced by citizens and assuring them that necessary reforms are underway.

Speaking at the second-term inauguration of Governor Hope Uzodinma in Owerri, Tinubu emphasized his commitment to addressing the concerns of the people. He outlined his administration’s focus on education, healthcare, and initiatives to stimulate industrialization and investments, aligning with his vision of fostering economic stability and prosperity.

Tinubu stated, “In the past 40 years, a few people were cornering our commonwealth and calling it subsidy, but I call it wasteful. Right now, we are all bearing and sharing that pain. But things are looking up. Things will get better for the good of all Nigerians. With me, there is hope.”

He assured Nigerians of substantial developments in education, with a priority on industrialization, and a heightened allocation of resources and attention to healthcare. Tinubu also pledged to invest in training more health workers to enhance the nation’s overall well-being.
