The statement conveyed heartfelt condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde, the government, and the people of Ibadan and Oyo state.

The statement pointed out that illegal mining activities have reportedly fueled insecurity in some parts of the country, and Fasoranti urged caution to prevent the exportation of such challenges into other regions.
Calling on the government to expose and prosecute all illegal miners, Fasoranti applauded Governor Makinde’s commitment to holding those responsible for the disaster accountable. The leader of Afenifere voiced support for every step the governor takes to ensure justice is served to both the victims and the culprits, preventing a recurrence of such a horrendous event.
While commending Governor Makinde’s efforts to assist the victims, Fasoranti appealed for federal government assistance due to the magnitude of the disaster, emphasizing that the burden should not solely rest on the shoulders of the Oyo state government.
