The Ogun State Police Command has reported that three of its Inspectors were captured on camera while extorting money from commercial motorcyclists.

The three officers have been identified as Inspector Ikhanorba Lucky, Inspector Paul Sunday, and Inspector Edwin Ekeogu.
According to a statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, the incident of professional misconduct took place on October 19 while the officers were on visibility policing duty at Maawu Bus stop in Agbado, Ogun State.
Odutola clarified that these officers were recorded blatantly extorting money from commercial motorcyclists, a clear violation of the Police Act and Regulations.

The video of their inappropriate actions was subsequently shared on social media.
The State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, has strongly condemned the unprofessional conduct of these three individuals.
To address this misconduct, the Command has initiated appropriate disciplinary measures against the erring personnel to ensure they are held accountable for their actions. This serves as a deterrent to other officers who may be tempted to engage in such behavior.
Abiodun emphasized his commitment to upholding professional standards within the force, aiming to maintain quality service delivery to the citizens and sustain public trust and confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
